ALEXANDRIA COMMUNITY MURAL

The first mural in Alexandria, Minnesota. Activation of the community and painting 240+ gridded squares.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

To get the artwork onto the building, it was gridded with tape. Each of the 240+ squares are 30in x 30in. Members from the community and the surrounding area chose the square they wanted to work on. Using three colors of blue and a sponge on paper plates, the monochrome colors and blotting technique brings the puzzle pieces together to create a unique work of art.

My Role Activating the community, teaching how to be involved, painting some of the more difficult squares.
